Stan Machosky, one of PACT’s board members, talked about PACT’s mission Statement and some of the upcoming events. The future events were: the Polish Concert Band’s concert at Olander Park in Sylvania, on July 22nd, Polish night at the Mud Hens baseball game on August 1st, and the screening of the movie “Katyn” at the Maumee Theater on October 4th, 2009.
Stan also talked about PACT‘s wish to give out an annual award to a deserving person who exhibits PACT’s ideals and represents its objectives. If you know someone with these qualities, and who exemplify our Mission Statement or who quietly serve their community without asking for recognition, please e-mail us atinfo@polishcommunity.org, or call us at 419.908.9755 and share your nominee with us.
More information about this award will be coming soon.
The highlight of the meeting was a presentation by Mitch Garowlinski. Mitch is a survivor of the holocaust of WWII. His memories of his six years under Hitler and the Germans are still fresh in his memory. He relives the horrors that he witnessed as a young American caught in Poland during the war.
